Taping to Improve Alignment, Strength and Function in Children

Course Description:

The continuing education hours obtained at this course qualify toward NDTA re-certification.

Enhance therapy outcomes in our pediatric clients by utilizing a combination of taping and strengthening techniques in this practical, hands on course.  Unlike many other taping courses, in this course we will practice with a variety of adhesive and non-adhesive materials to achieve improved alignment and functional outcomes.  Strengthening strategies will be presented to enhance the new alignment achieved through taping. Examples of intervention with children through videotape and case studies will reinforce learning. 

What you will cover:

  • Theory and principles of taping as adjunct to therapy  
  • The role of strengthening as it relates to enhance taping results
  • Kinetic taping (neoprene, lycra,  Thera-togs, Hip Helpers, body suits, Superwrap)
  • Techniques using therapeutic elastic tape
  • Rigid Taping for the trunk, shoulder, lower extremities, feet, ankle
