Baby Beats – Level 2! Join Holly Schifsky Increase Your NICU Knowledge and Manual Therapy Skills

At ERI, we are committed to offering therapists the latest evidence-based techniques to bring your career to the next level and improve patient outcomes – which is why we are excited to partner with Holly Schifsky to offer the new course “Baby Beats–Level 2: Multi-System Assessment and Treatment of the Premature/Medically Complex Infant for Rehabilitation Professionals.” This essential course for intermediate to advanced neonatal therapists, PTs, PTAs, OTs, OTAs, and SLPs, builds upon Holly’s other popular course “Baby Beats and Breaths,” but can also be taken as a stand-alone course for advanced clinicians working with medically complex infants.

In Baby Beats – Level 2, clinicians will gain a deeper understanding of the multi-system co-morbidities of prematurity.  Participants will explore hands-on techniques for working with infants in the Small Baby Unit (infants 22-32 weeks, positioning/handling, line management), infants with gastrointestinal complications (abdominal facilitation post-surgical repair, oral motor feeding post-surgical repair, facilitation of the GI system, tissue mobilization of the abdominal region to support GI recovery, scar assessment, and mobilization), neurological conditions (motor activation, assessing motor function, oral motor skills post brain injury in the NICU, oral feeding considerations), lymphatic system activation (education on manual edema mobilization, lymphatic facilitation with positioning/handling, oral motor activation to support facial edema clearance), and orthopedic considerations (developmental considerations during joint compression, gentle range of motion, monitoring lab values/nutritional considerations for infants with metabolic bone disease).

Holly is an Occupational Therapist who has worked in pediatrics for the past 24 years with the past 16 years in a level IV NICU. She is a Certified Neonatal Therapist, Certified Neonatal Touch and Massage Therapist, Certified Brain Injury therapist, an active member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists, and has completed 6-month mentorship in infant/child NDT.

Past participants rave about Holly’s expertise and courses:

“Holly is such a wealth of knowledge.  We’re lucky to have her as a resource person. She inspires me to do more, do better, be better. Hands down one of the best conferences/courses I’ve attended” – A. Jackson,  OTR/L CNT

“I learned so much from a single course with an amazing presenter, and I am very eager to implement the gained knowledge. I look forward to taking more courses and will definitely recommend my colleagues to do so as well.” – F. Alquraini, SLP
