Pediatric Vestibular Rehabilitation

We are pleased to offer this popular continuing education courses. This course focuses on effective vestibular rehabilitation for treating children with dizziness, coordination, balance, motor, postural, vestibular, visual motor, perceptual, sensory organization and motion disorders due to disease, toxicity, infection, tumors, trauma, neurological, and congenital/genetic disorders. Experienced as well as novice clinicians will learn a new frame of reference and treatment techniques that can positively affect the child’s motor skills, balance, coordination, rate of development, perceptual skills and tolerances of motion. The lab course will include pediatric assessments for vestibular, sensory organization, ocular motor, reflex integration, and motor development. Treatment techniques, video case demonstrations, and interactive lab practice will be included. While this course is specific to pediatrics, the material does apply to adults with vestibular disorders as well.

    Hi Sue, we do not have any other dates scheduled for this year for this course, but we are already working on scheduling 2016 dates. They will be posted on our website as soon as a venue is confirmed.

      We do offer a specific Pediatric vestibular course but unfortunately no not have any further dates for this year. However We are introducing a new speaker: Christina Finn offering “Post Concussion Syndrome” This course will help clinicians apply the latest research on diagnosis and management of concussion and post concussion syndrome. This course will focus on the latest relevant assessment and treatment strategies for adults and children with prolonged visual, vestibular and sensory complaints as a result of concussion. Effective treatment strategies to improve visual skills, balance and sensory integration for optimal return to all daily tasks will be highlighted. Participants will engage in clinical problem solving via group case analysis and discussion. Age/Patient Population: This course is relevant for therapists working with individuals of all ages including school aged children, young adults, and older adults who may have sustained a concussion as a result of fall, MVA, sports injury, or accident.
      Another new course coming in the fall is not aimed at the pediatric population but information learned can be applied to pediatric therapy: Post-Concussion Syndrome: Rehab for Vestibular, Balance and Related Symptoms with Kim Fox.
