What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you purchase a course registration, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number, and the card’s expiration date. This allows us to process your credit card and fulfill your order.
When you Join Our Email List, we need only your e-mail address.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Education Resources, Inc. products or services, and special offers we think you’ll find valuable.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We collect personally identifiable information, like names, postal addresses, email addresses, discipline etc., when voluntarily submitted by our visitors. This information is only used to fulfill your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example to add you to one of our mailing lists.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information provided in your user profile. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. This information is kept indefinitely. For users who request to join our mailing list, your personal information is kept indefinitely.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
Education Resources, Inc. provides its customers with the latest Internet electronic commerce security software. All transactions on our web site are encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure your personal and credit card information is safe from the moment you sign up as a member and through out any transaction that involves the transfer of credit card information. SSL technology only works when you have a secure browser. Secure browsers include Netscape Navigator 2.0 and later, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and later, and AOL version 4 or later. To verify whether your browser is secure look for the specific security lock or key icon at the bottom of the page. This icon ensures the browser is talking to our servers with secure, encrypted computer language. Users of Netscape Communicator 4.5 or earlier have an expired digital certificate. They will experience an Error Dialog when attempting to make a secure connection to any secure site after December 31, 1999. Education Resources Inc. receives contact information from mailing lists that a user has subscribed to.

Education Resources Inc. will allocate users into defined groups for marketing purposes dependant on information provided.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
We adhere to regulating boards’ policies and guidelines during the CEU application process and while marketing relevant courses to those who have opted in to receiving this information.
International Privacy Laws
If you are accessing the Education Resources Inc. website and associated services from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending information (including Personal Data) to the United States where our servers are located. If you are registering for a class with ERI and you are residing outside the U.S., please note that your data will be transferred and stored in the U.S.
If you share anything on the website to social media, please note that you are also sharing information with the service we are using.
