What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you purchase a course registration, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number, and the card’s expiration date. This allows us to process your credit card and fulfill your order.

When you Join Our Email List, we need only your e-mail address.

We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Education Resources, Inc. products or services, and special offers we think you’ll find valuable.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Third parties used by Education Resources are PayPal for all credit card transactions Sendgrid (https://sendgrid.com/policies/security/)  and governing CEU boards, who require a record of your course attendance. We may also release Your information when we believe it is needed to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information provided in your user profile. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. This information is kept indefinitely. For users who request to join our mailing list, your personal information is kept indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

Education Resources, Inc. provides its customers with the latest Internet electronic commerce security software. All transactions on our web site are encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure your personal and credit card information is safe from the moment you sign up as a member and through out any transaction that involves the transfer of credit card information. Browser Compatibility

If you are accessing the Education Resources Inc. website and associated services from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending information (including Personal Data) to the United States where our servers are located. If you are registering for a class with ERI and you are residing outside the U.S., please note that your data will be transferred and stored in the U.S.
