This practical and engaging course teaches participants strategies to maximize functional outcomes for children 0-3 years old by focusing on treatment of the trunk, lower extremity, and upper extremity as well as tools to improve transitional movements, standing and walking skills.

Learn how to assess and treat babies from birth to 3 years old with known or suspected neuromotor impairments. An emphasis will be placed on the practical application of treatment strategies to gain functional outcomes appropriate for this age group and how to incorporate therapeutic strategies into family life.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify sensory-motor issues specifically related to infants
- Apply current research to increase effectiveness of intervention
- Analyze gross motor, fine motor, and respiratory function
- Develop treatment strategies for the infant and toddler that lead to developmental change
- Identify appropriate adaptive equipment for the 0-3 year old
- Discuss family factors and identify practical home program ideas
Suzanne Davis Bombria, PT, C/NDT is a Neuro-Developmental (NDT) Coordinator-Instructor for the eight-week intensive course on pediatrics for physical, occupational and speech therapists. Davis brings first-hand practical experience to her courses as she is the mother of a son who has cerebral palsy. She is a member of the Theory Committee of the NDTA Instructors Group. Ms. Davis Bombria has provided instruction through various short and long courses throughout the United States and internationally. She has a private practice, Pediatric Therapy Associates, in Plantation, Florida. She currently resides in Connecticut with her family. The Cerebral Palsy Magazine, NDTA Network and Therapy Skill Builders have published her works. The enthusiasm for her work, which expands beyond thirty years as a pediatric therapist and instructor, along with her easy presentation style, provide the theoretical and practical solutions all therapists can use with their patient population.
