NEW CEU course – Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation in Post Concussion Syndrome

Master Clinician Gaye Cronin presents this NEW course in 2014:

Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation in Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS)

The course will focus on assessment and treatment for vestibular, sensory organization, ocular motor, reflex integration, postural stability, and otolithic displacement and is designed for professionals working with patients with post concussion syndrome (PCS).
The Centers for Disease Control reports that four million sports and recreation related concussions occur every year, and many are not reported. Post concussion syndrome related to mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) can result in peripheral and central vestibular pathway dysfunction and without intervention, vestibular symptoms can be some of the most persistent and impairing. The course covers the assessment and treatment of the symptoms of visual blurring, imbalance, vertigo, dizziness, postural instability, neuromuscular impairments, attention deficits and difficulties with motor planning and dual tasking that present in post concussion syndrome.
The interventions presented are appropriate for injured athletes, wounded warriors, traumatic accident victims, injured athletes with delayed symptoms, elderly fallers. Learn treatment techniques that can positively affect the patient’s motor skills, neuromuscular status, balance, perceptual skills, tolerances of motion, safety, return to lifestyles, and prevention of future injures. Treatment techniques, video case demonstrations, and interactive lab practice will be included.
