Visual/Vestibular Strategies to Optimize Participation and Learning
Vision is your reality! What your visual system processed is what you believe to be true; yet most of the time a child will not know that they are not using their eyes effectively. A high percentage of children with learning difficulties struggle with visual dysfunction but it is often not detected. This session will discuss strategies and treatment to effectively evaluate and address the visual-vestibular system in the academic setting.
Participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the role of the visual and vestibular systems in successful academic performance
2. Identify visual and vestibular systems dysfunction in your students
3. List compensatory strategies to facilitate improved performance of the visual and vestibular system
4. Identify treatment strategies to enhance function of the visual and vestibular system
