Access for Students with Moderate to Severe Physical Challenges: What is Relevant
This session will discuss access and participation for students with complex physical needs in the school setting. Students with orthopedic and neuromotor challenges will be discussed. Concomitantly, examples of adaptive seating and positioning, school ADL, assistive technology and adaptive mobility devices for these students will be described.
1. Utilize the ICF to describe students with complex physical health conditions in school environment.
2. Identify and apply the use of adaptive seating and mobility solutions in school environment.
3. Choose appropriate Assistive Technology tools and strategies and apply them in the school environment.
4. Explain the importance of Activities of Daily Living in school environment.
