Course Description:

Session A:
How Can The Team Support Motor Needs and Educational Needs in the Mild or Moderately Challenged Child
This session will provide therapists with tools to incorporate therapy for optimal motor outcomes into the educational model. Practical collaborative tools will be emphasized. This session will help therapists identify common struggles, as well as proactive steps to promote success in the educational setting.

Participants will be able to establish and enhance current treatment sessions:
     1. To identify ways to expand and create new programs within the educational setting
     2. To define your role and value within the educational team
     3. To summarize the importance of sensory/motor development in the learning process

Session B:
Aligning Strategies to Support Motor Needs with Educational/Curriculum Goals
We will discuss sensory and motor systems and their impact on a student’s ability to focus and enhance memory while being able to process information. Therapists will learn how to impact neuroplasticity to facilitate learning.

  1. To describe neuroanatomy/physiology of learning
    2. To explain how therapists can make an impact on neuroplasticity.
    3. Describe treatment strategies to address commonly seen diagnosis in the school setting

This course is offered for up to 0.4 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area).

If you wish to get continuing education credits after watching this session, you will need to take the post-test and pass it with a grade of 80% or better. To take the exam, watch session A and B and click the tab "Take Exam", after watching session B. After you have submitted your answers, you will find out if you passed. If you passed, click the "Receive certificate" button to download and print your CEU certificate. If you did not pass, you may re-take the exam at your convenience until you pass.
