Course Description:
•Manage caseloads using decision-making tools to determine direct vs. consultative services, collaboration strategies, frequency and intensity of services •Use an inclusionary approach to meet the challenge of RTI through creative strategies for teacher support and collaboration •Use practical assessment tools to guide intervention approaches that are based on the best evidence available •Use new treatment techniques as well as imbedded interventions to: •design an optimal neurodevelopmental classroom to promote sensory integration •address technology needs of children in the 21st century •address any hidden vision problems that impact learning and promote visual processing •optimize functional executive skills to improve social participation and academic performance •enhance postural control, strength and coordination •Develop appropriate goals and interventions for the severely challenged children •Promote smooth transitions for children within schools and when changing schools
