Stacey is the owner of South Shore Therapies, Inc., a clinic specializing in intervention for individuals with sensory, motor and feeding difficulties. She is nationally recognized for her knowledge of sensory integration and has developed and presented a wide variety of workshops on assessment, intervention, and combining therapeutic techniques. Her extensive clinical and teaching experience provides the foundation for her belief in an eclectic approach to intervention, focusing on developing functional abilities for independence. She incorporates these ideas into her teaching style which highlights active learning and developing a wide range of practical and useable suggestions for intervention.
Ms. Szklut has authored book chapters on Assessment of the Developmentally Delayed Child, Occupational and Physical Therapy Interventions for the Learning Disabled Child, Indirect Intervention Strategies and Pediatric Case Vignettes. She is co-author of the book Answers to Questions Teachers Ask About Sensory Integration. In 2011, she was awarded an excellence in writing award by AOTA for her article entitled Using Clinical Reasoning to Evaluate Sensory Processing Dysfunction. A highlight in recent years has been her collaboration with Gary Kielhofner for his book Conceptual Frameworks in OT, where she and South Shore Therapies were highlighted for their exemplary work pediatric occupational therapy.
